RDB To Offer 100 Free Gorilla Permits to Those Born During Liberation Struggle

While Rwanda celebrates 25 years of liberty, 100 lucky Rwandan’s who were born in the liberation struggle will get free gorilla trekking permits.Volcanoes National park The lucky winners will trek the endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National park free of charge. Rwanda Development Board is the sponsor for this Rwanda gorilla trip scheduled for November 2019 in the Volcanoes National park, home to 10 habituated mountain gorilla families. Giving free gorilla permit is one of RDB’s strategies to promote domestic tourism in Rwanda encouraging a culture of conservation among the local people of Rwanda.

How to participate
To be one of the 100 lucky ones, every Rwanda citizen turning 25 years this year is encouraged to register with Rwanda Development Board. Visit the information and sales offices of the Rwanda Development Board in all corners of the country for registration. There you will fill in a form giving information about your name, date of birth and attach your passport photo. Rwanda Development Board will thereafter organize a raffle draw where fifty winners will be selected. In other words, out of the 100 winners, 50 will be selected from the raffle competition while other 50 winners will be nominated through Twitter and Facebook.

How to nominate someone on Twitter
Do you want to nominate anyone? Simply draft a message, talk about the person you are nominating, include the nominee name and photo. You will then add the hashtag#TemberaURWanda25#KWibohora and tag@Visitrwanda_now. All competition will be closed on 20th July 2019 and the final winners will be announced.

How will the trip be done?
Rwanda Development Board is managing everything. On the trip day, RDB will transport participants to Volcanoes National park to be part of this magical gorilla experience. However, terms and conditions will apply accordingly to ensure a peaceful trek offering a memorable experience while conserving for mountain gorillas.
